Fandom Snowflake Challenge: Day 1

In your own space, talk about why you're participating in Snowflake and, if you’ve participated in the past, how the challenge has affected you. What drew you to it? What did you take away from it? What do you hope to accomplish this year?

I've been wanting to be a little more active in fandom, and on this blog in general, and this challenge sounded like a fun, low-pressure way to go about doing it. I find that one of the best ways to motivate myself to do fandom things is by joining challenges/exchanges (which is why the vast majority of the fan fiction on my AO3 account originates from exchanges), so here I am.

I've never done it before; I only heard of the challenge a few days ago after seeing a post mentioning it from a different DW comm. Hopefully it'll be fun!
