After listening to it for the first time yesterday, I'm adding Suzanne Vega's "Marlene on the Wall" to the List of Songs I'd Use in an Utena Vid If I Ever Start Making Vids.
It feels like it sort of works for the Anthy-Akio-Utena dynamic, with Utena being the singer and Anthy taking the role of Marlene, and I'd interpret the "you" mentioned in the song as Utena alternately referring to Anthy, Akio, or both at once.
I think I'll probably look up some more of Vega's music. Always nice to find a new artist to listen to!
